Richard Skibell

Dr. Richard Skibell has been a practicing orthodontist for more than 30 years. He attended dental school at the University of Texas in Houston and graduated in 1970. He completed his specialization in orthodontics in 1974 and served in the Air Force at Clark Air Base on Luzon Island, Phillipines.

When not seeing his patients, Dr Skibell loves to enjoy a relaxing day of golf, goes for long walks with his two dogs Harry, a Burma Doodle, and Watson, a Golden Doodle.

He also enjoys traveling with his wife to visit their daughter in San Francisco and son in New York.

According to Dr. Skibell oral hygiene is very important. This requires thorough brushing and daily flossing as both are essential for overall oral health. He is committed to providing his patients with the highest quality dental care and believes in offering several dental techniques to be able to reach the best outcome for his patients.


If you could give one piece of advise to your patients about their oral health, what would it be?
- I would tell them to floss daily.
- In the years that you’ve been practicing dentistry, what is the most significant changes you have seen in the industry?
Armamentarium – the technological advances since I started in Dentistry are just amazing.
What is the best part of being an Orthodontist?
- I really enjoy watching the kids grow up. It’s neat.
Who is the person whom you admire greatly?
- My father, hands down.
What was the greatest lesson you learned from childhood?
- To be kind to others.
When did you know you wanted to be in Dentistry?
- I knew I wanted to be an Orthodontist when I got my braces.
